Last Updated: August 5, 2025

At SimoBreath.com, we are committed to promoting safe and effective wellness practices through our breathing exercises and tools. While rhythmic breathing is safe and beneficial for most individuals, breath holds, intense, fast, and forceful mouth breathing, may pose risks for individuals with specific health conditions such as:

  • Cardiovascular Issues: Including but not limited to heart disease, use of a pacemaker, or uncontrolled high blood pressure.
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) or Severe Asthma: These conditions may be exacerbated by intense breathing practices.
  • History of Seizures or Epilepsy: Breathwork may trigger seizures in susceptible individuals.
  • Recent Surgery or Injury: Breathing exercises may interfere with healing or cause complications.
  • Detached Retina or Glaucoma: Intense breathing practices may increase intraocular pressure, posing risks to eye health.
  • Severe Mental Health Conditions: Such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, as breathwork may affect mental stability in some cases.
  • Pregnancy: Especially in the first trimester, due to potential risks to maternal and fetal health.
  • Severe Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD):  without therapeutic support, as intense breathwork may trigger emotional distress.
  • Fever .

Before beginning any breathwork practices, if you have any of the above conditions, are taking specific medication, or are unsure if this is right for you, we recommend checking with your healthcare provider.

Important Note on Your Wellbeing:

Our Services are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. You must consult a qualified medical professional if you have any health concerns.

Always listen to your body. If during breathwork you feel lightheaded, uncomfortable, or experience any unusual symptoms, it is best to pause, return to your regular breathing pattern, and rest.

We always encourage doing breathwork with the support of a certified breathwork instructor, or healthcare professional.
